Salam..
It has certainly been a fairly long while since my last entry.. As a matter of fact, I had half-written an entry and even that I didn't finish! Call it procrastination, call it lazy, or call it whatever you want, I will accept those and I'll just say "I'm plain lazy!"..
I might just take this entry to summarize the events of the week..
Dublin Trip
I started off the week with not knowing I was to be oncall on Monday, until about 5 minutes from leaving the house.. I was 99.99% convinced that I would be oncall on Wednesday until that very second I checked my oncall schedule.. Phew!
My first assignment that night was to transfer a 25-year-old man from ICU to the ICCU in Mater Hospital, Dublin.. Now that was not really the worse part.. I was told the man was on 'pressors' (dobutamine infusion) but was 'stable' and was not on ventilatory support.. What that means was this man is high-risk to 'crash' while on transfer.. Luckily, the transfer was quick and uneventful.. The drive from Limerick took merely two hours to arrive in Dublin! and we headed back (which took just under three hours) and I was back in A&E, ending up with two admissions in Resus just before 9am and missed half of Prof's ward round that morning..
Rest of the Week
Nothing majorly interesting throughout the week, though.. On Friday, I went to Cork with Mas and attended a Solat Hajat ceremony for the students.. In a way, I missed my involvement with students since I left the student body and phased into working.. Of course, the thing that made it more interesting was the Ceramah Motivasi oleh Pakar Motivasi dan Psikologi Dr Mas Mahadi (Motivational Talk by Motivational and Psychology Expert).. The fact that Mas had thought it would be a 15-minute informal talk to students facing their days of exams was the glittering part of it.. It turned out he had to 'made it formal' and prepared few slides for his presentation..
We came back to Limerick that same night after stopping by at Puden and Fiza's place.. Ina didn't come along as she finished late on Friday and was probably too tired to tag along..
We only stayed home on Saturday, cleaning the house..
Sunday - we went to Zali's house and met some friends there too.. Puden and Fiza and Fitri were there.. Fitri came all the way from Waterford.. Kak Yulia is not around, she is on maternity leave and went back to Malaysia with the baby and their first daughter too.. So Fitri was probably pretty much lonely and bored alone in Waterford..
We had lunch there and the chicken was good.. Puden and Fiza brought some spring rolls and muffins and Ina baked two cakes.. I'm not sure whether the cakes were the gauge of how 'depressed' she was facing Sunday and knowing Monday will chart the start of a new working week.. I know she finds relief in baking, so maybe she was in 'Level 2 Depressed'.. Her lip ulcer doesn't make it any easier..
Another Week
All in all, the coming week is coming and I m looking forward for the next weekend - it's the Bank Holiday weekend again.. Unfortunately, Ina will be oncall on Friday and she is dreading it..
We will keep you updated..

Excuses...
Salam...
I'm back again after a long silence.. busy, lazy and no exciting stories.. they're my excuses for not writing for a while..
Busy with work - as I'm the rotating SHO,I'm working in between 2 teams & this past week was the week of me changing team.. It's quite tough for me especially on the first day with the 'new' team as I need to learn about a whole new set of patients.. From the 1st day they were admitted including all the investigations they had.. and elderly patients are never simple cases.. and unfortunately for me,my first day with Dr Clinchs' team which was last Tuesday, was the day I was on call.. And as early as 10 o'clock,I've got a referral from A&E.. and adding to my misery, 3 of my patients in the wards were complicated cases - 2 with pyrexia of unknown origin & 1 with massive ascites complicated by oliguric renal failure (which we 1st thought she had acute urinary retention!).. I had to arrange urgent consults for all these patients.. and guess what, the 1st patient I admitted from A&E had a massive subdural haemorrhage! I'm so glad I survived this week.. Alhamdulillah.. I'm still trying to adapt to this team.. It's just way too different between these 2 teams.. and I have to admit it's not easy.. huhu..
Lazy - of the hectic life in the hospital, anytime I spent at home was just for relaxing.. I have no energy to do anything else.. and I left everything to the weekend.. And weekend seems too short!! I need a holiday..
Nothing exciting - I'm soooo depressed.. how do people fall on love with their work? how do people love working? hmmm... probably I just need a break.. I hope I will find the reason for me to love my work.. to find the reason I love going to the hospital.. I do love seeing people getting better..I love to inform them about their progress with their treatment.. I love to find answers to a mystery.. but I hate dealing with bureaucracy.. hate dealing with people with no sense.. hate the long working hours & hate to be on call.. hehehe... this is me,being miserable every Sunday evening, knowing that I need to be at work tomorrow..;p and my dear hubby will try everything he can to keep me smiling..
I pray may my life will be filled with love everyday.. all sorts of love of the goodness.. Ameen..

Congratulations to my dear sis on passing her written exam for the master programme!! Way to go,K.Sobah!!:) I know you would made it!She is totally the opposite of me.. She is working as a doctor as well but she is really into her job.. although she did say she wanted a new career, but she did give her all to the master programme that she's taking:) with a busy job & 3 children, she strives hard for her exams.. unlike me,who is too lazy to even open a book;)
I wish her the very best for the clinical part this coming May.. May you'll pass with flying colours!!

Priceless Feeling
Salam..
It has been quite some time since my last entry.. As a matter of fact, I might well consider myself a little bit on the 'slo-mo' gear.. But with the weekend oncall last week and the busy first part of the week, as the final few days with Nephrology, I do not think I need to explain any further or worse yet dig deep for an excuse..
Today is a very special day for both of us, Ina and me.. Of course, it is Ina's birthday today.. And me being 'mean', I did not wish her until later in the day.. Now, not that it was unintentionally I forgot about it, but I had a big plan, of which I had planned secretly since about three weeks ago..
We started the day a little bit slow, with Ina was slightly unwell with flu since after her oncall last night.. I had to hardly persuade her to go out of the house and we headed to Cork at about 12.30pm.. Of course I did not say anything about anything apart from me singing in the car with the tune from my Sony MP3 player.. When we reached Cork, we headed straight to Wan's house but Ina had never been there before, so she was absolutely dumbfounded by the agenda of the day.. When Wan opened the door and Fid literally screamed "Surprise!" at Ina's face, all Heaven broke loose and all secrets revealed!
Wan had prepared a chocolate mousse cake with Japanese 'Happy Birthday' written on it.. Wan's mom made a telekung for Ina as a present.. The girls bought Ina a Spongebob balloon and a Brown Thomas purse.. We had vermicelli with soup and loads of desserts..
As for me, the greatest enjoyment of the day was to see Ina's face when the surprise party hit her flat! It was just priceless.. It was the joy for her from me..
I thank Wan and her family for organising all these.. Wan was my 'partner in crime' since the last three weeks, organising this event.. She had help from (with many thanks) Fid, Sepose and Syiown.. And I thank all who attended and made Ina's birthday this year as special as it was.. Many thanks to all..
Happy birthday, Sayang..
